What happens
Your driver takes an air-conditioned 4x4 onto the soft sand and drives over the dunes, climbing the slopes and sliding down the far side. Keep your seat belt on and hold the grab handle. The ride is bumpy and the car leans at steep angles, which is the point.
Who should skip it
Dune bashing is not a good idea if you are pregnant or have back, neck or heart problems. If you get car sick, take the front seat and tell your driver, and ask us about children's ages before you book.
What to wear
Light clothes, closed shoes and sunglasses. Keep your phone and camera in a bag or a firm grip when the car is moving.
How to do it
Dune bashing is part of the morning, evening and overnight safaris, with pick-up from your hotel in Doha.
